Izzy's First Litter
Born 22 May 2016
It's TIME to show our first pictures of Barnes' Bulldogges latest litter. I emphasized time because we decided to name the pups with time related names. They are all Blue or Blue Fawn and they are growing quickly and gaining weight very well. Izzy is doing a very good job making sure all 9 of these puppies are kept clean, fed and warm. It only took her 4 hours and 40 minutes to have all of these pups which was fairly quick. She didn't seem to be under any undue stress during the delivery and nursed every puppy well from the start. Good doses of colostrum were had by all.
Comments on 27 July 2016: The puppies are 9 weeks old and looking great. They've had 2 rounds of vaccines and been wormed 4 times. There are only three left, it's amazing how much difference it makes with this many versus 9 puppies. We sure do miss the other 6 but know they have found great forever homes. It is pretty special seeing people holding their new puppy for the first time.
Izzy's Blue Fawn puppies, Dawn, Eon, and Twilight, playing in the yard on 3 Aug 2016. Too fun!
Twilight - Female, Blue Fawn and White - SOLD to the Ray Family in Ohio
Twilight was a bit of a surprise. Eon was born about an hour after Epoch and we thought we were done. Then almost 50 minutes later out pops Twilight. She loves to initiate play with the other pups and is very energetic. Twilight is a photogenic young lady, it seems like she wants to pose for the pictures.
Rio (was Eon) - Male, Blue Fawn and White - SOLD to the Wiggins Family in PA
Eon is this litter's bruiser. He's big, he's thick, he eats like a horse and he sleeps a lot. In other words, he's all boy. His head is noticeably bigger than his litter mates - he is going to be a big beautiful bully boy. For all that he is quiet and easy going - a lovable teddy bear.
Dawn - Female, Blue Fawn - SOLD to the Barton Family in Michigan
Dawn is a stunning young lady. She's among the bigger puppies in this litter. She's very calm and quiet, but she is the leader of the litter. She's always the first out of the whelping box and the others seem to follow her lead. She has very little white on her. Basically what you see is it except for a touch of white on her chest. I'm very excited to watch this girl grow as I'm convinced she is something special.
Ballou (was Vigil) - Male, Solid Platinum Blue - SOLD to the Barnes' Family (no relation :) in Maryland
To the left is Ballou at 12 weeks and 21 lbs getting his vaccine. Looking great - we're so happy to hear everything is going so well. He's a beauty! By the way, that is a great Martingale type collar - excellent for Bulldogges and other thick necked breeds. It's a Ruffwear Chain Reaction Collar available almost everywhere.
Vigil is nearly as big as Dawn. He's solid blue with a small blue pattern on his chest. He looks a lot like Chrono and we use that little red spot on his nose (which he lost as he matured!) to tell them apart. Vigil loves people and is the first to run over and play with your hands.
Murphy (was Chrono) - Male, Solid Platinum Blue - Sold to the Nelson Family is Virginia.
I normally don't do this, but the Nelson family and their new relationship with Murphy (was Chrono) has melted my heart. I think this is going to work out very well for everyone.
Chrono has the least amount of white on him of any bulldogge I have seen. Besides his tip toes, he has that tiny beard under his chin. He also has a pencil thin white line on his chest which is almost unnoticeable (you can just see it in the picture on the top left). He's a few ounces lighter than Vigil or Dawn, but he is feisty and is gaining quickly.
Jiffy - Female, Blue and White Sold to the Oerter Family is New Jersey.
Jiffy is an adorable little girl. She is not shy and will tell her mom when she's not happy. She's a go-getter and a brave explorer who scoots around like she owns the place.
Stella (was Tempo) - Female, Blue and White, SOLD to the Wolfgram Family in Minnesota
Tempo has that cute little blue mark on her right eye, something that has been memorable since the minute she was born. She popped out 32 minutes after Jiffy and has been a quiet gentle soul ever since, rarely making a sound.
Piper (was Eve) - Female, Blue and White - SOLD to the Stumbo Family in Logan, Ohio
Eve is a cute little blue girl with a mustache. Well, it does look a little like a mustache. She is cute and sweet and goes about her business without making a fuss. She's a bit of an explorer and is not afraid to set out on her own.
Ghost (was Epoch) - Male, Blue and White - SOLD to the Evans Family in San Antonio, Texas
Epoch is a big boy and he has a serious head on his shoulders for a man of his age. He is shaping up to be a bully boy and I can't wait to see how big his head will be at 2 years old.
